Research - Neurosurgery
Stony Brook neurosurgery faculty lead or participate in NIH-funded, basic and clinical research including SAMMPRIS (Stenting versus Aggressive Medical Management for Preventing Recurrent Stroke) Trial, the development of flow diverter technology for the treatment of aneurysms, and pathogenic mechanisms in cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), a condition that is prevalent in Alzheimer's disease.
